Filming Day #1

So excited to finally get in on the action! Honestly I didn't know what to expect at all, so I just woke up with an open mind, bright spirits, and lots of energy to tackle my first day!

Call time was 5:30am and we arrived at the filming site at 6am to be greeted with no lights inside and a locked door. Something I would become used to in the following months.....lol.

Finally our day begins rolling around 8am with a sweet sermon to pray that filming will go smoothly. This is quite unconventional as usually on a Chinese style camera opening ceremony (see pic below) is held but our scriptwriter is Christian. It was quite lovely and at the end we all drew a verse that's supposed to help us endure the filming.

And with that, we began to film our first scene.

That one scene took us practically half the day. And what I did during that time was just hang around since I didn't know what to do with myself or how to make myself useful. As we filmed people would give me pointers, but it's hard to explain everything at once and to soak it all up. Someone would just tell me to go fetch something or go do something and I would do it. By the end of the day the crankiness was setting in from not being used to such physical exertion and I started to get a bit grumpy and snappy, and then promptly received feedback from a coworker that my face looked tired/grumpy. Le sigh. I now know how celebrities feel....like have I lost my right to feel tired?? Can I not have a tough day??

To sum it up, my day consisted of way too much vitamin D, toning my muscles by moving lots of equipment, and questioning what the hell did I do to myself.....I'll close with a lovely photo of my tan from only day 1. A long three months to go.....
